On June 7, Alternare’s team organized the “First Food Fair of Eastern Michoacán” in the city of Ocampo. Women from diverse communities of the Monarch Butterfly Biosphere Reserve who take part in the sustainable activities taught and promoted by Alternare, sold organic jams, honey, food, medicinal products ointments, and other products. Additionally academic institutions like the Benito Juárez Wellbeing University and the Michoacan’s Higher Learning Center, and the State of Mexico’s Intercultural University also participated as speakers. The visitors were enthusiastic and engaged with the women, the product displays and the speakers making the event a complete success and a learning experience for all the attendees!
