Lincoln Pierson Brower (1931-2018) was Monarch Butterfly Fund member since it was established in 2009 until 2018. He obtained a B.A. degree in biology from Princeton University in 1953 and a PhD in zoology from Yale University in 1957. In the winter of 1977 he led a team of researchers studying the ecology of the overwintering grounds of the monarch in the mountains of Michoacán, Mexico and spent the rest of his life studying their biology and advocating for the protection of their overwintering grounds, becoming a world-renowned expert in the topic.

In the 1980s, he assisted conservation groups in Mexico and the Mexican government to expand the protected area for the monarchs.
