About
Mónica Missrie is a conservation biologist and has worked for monarch conservation for more than 25 years. She was part of the team that worked on the expansion of the Monarch Butterfly Biosphere Reserve in Mexico in 2001, and the creation of the Monarch Butterfly Conservation Fund which offered incentives to the local communities affected by the establishment of the protected area. The Fund operates to this day, supporting communities to participate in conservation and sustainable activities. She combines her conservation work with Spanish-English interpreting and translating, bringing understanding between people.
