Susan Meyers is a retired non-formal science educator, with a BS in Microbiology and MS in Environmental Science from Louisiana State University, Baton Rouge, and Florida Institute of Technology, respectively. She is a passionate volunteer for Monarchs Across Georgia, a Monarch Watch Conservation Specialist, a Pollinator Partnership-certified Pollinator Steward, and a Georgia Master Gardener and Master Naturalist. 

Susan administers Journey North's Symbolic Monarch Migration project, coordinating the exchange of symbolic butterflies among 1,500+ classrooms in three countries, along with lessons and materials in Mexico. She also continues to facilitate educator workshops using the Monarchs & More curriculum and regularly participates in several monarch citizen science programs. 

In 2015, Susan was honored with the USFWS Conservation Partner Award for her contributions to monarch butterfly conservation and in 2025 she received EEA's Dr. Eugene Odum Lifetime Service Award for her leadership contributions to environmental education.
